Kerala is a southwestern state of India ,located & Malayalam as its official language .Kerala is also known as "God's own country " . I am from kerala .I have lots of recipes collection from my mom & grandmother . I will post those traditional recipes - each recipes influenced by geographical, cultural & religious factors - for example chicken curry in Malabar & Kottayam are entirely different .
Keralites have thier bed tea/Coffee as soon as they wake up after or before brushing .Few people still walk to the nearest ChaayaKada (Tea Shop ) ,mostly located at near by junction ,where they have freshly prepared hot tea & read news Paper ,they with thier friends or with acquaintance discuss about politics & other maters -an average malayalee reads minimum 2 news paper daily .
Ladies get up early in the morning & will take bath & visit church or temple early in the morning to attend mass/to offer prayers . Ladies in the home brooms the frontyard . They start preparing the breakfast .Keralites normally have thier breakfast at 8am to 10 am normally .
Break fast recipes
Keralites still stick on to their traditional break dishes like - Puttu,Idli,Dosa,Appam,Kappa,Kanji etc . These recipes are healthy -each of these food items are paired with specific curries -Puttu is normally served with Kadala Curry - Idli & Dosa with Sambar,Chutney ,Appam is served with Potato curry ,Kanji with green gram (Cheru Payar ) .
I will try to label recipes depend on category & main ingredient .
Lunch Meals( 12.30pm to 2.30 pm )
Keralites have full meals at around 1 pm . To most of them fish curry is a must .
